About Willow Lake

Willow Lake has always been a family-run day camp providing a kid-centered, fun-filled experience that leaves campers feeling great about their summers and about themselves.

The camp is located on 35 acres in one of the most beautiful parts of New Jersey. Our grounds are home to a private, spring-fed lake, as well as a main house (circa 1910) and several cottages, which date back to the time when Willow Lake was a resort. Lake Hopatcong, the largest in New Jersey, is just across the street.

Staff members at Willow Lake love camp as much as our campers and return here summer after summer. Many staff members are certified teachers or college students studying to become teachers. All our senior staff members are mature, responsible and nurturing adults. Our junior counselors are full of energy and always ready to lend a hand. And our specialists are just that – knowledgeable and skilled experts in their fields. For example, our athletic staff are physical education teachers and coaches, and our fine arts staff are art teachers and/or artists.

Willow Lake has programs that are appropriate for campers of all ages, from our Little Willows right up through teens. We also have a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for campers in grades 9 and 10.

Parents often tell us that their children’s positive experiences at Willow Lake spill over into other parts of their lives. The new skills they’ve mastered and the social and emotional growth they’ve experienced even help them become more successful in school and other activities.
